With an improved LCD screen featuring dual coloured backlights, WiFi connectivity and housed in a waterproof aluminium chassis. Designed to acquire and display data coming from your ECU, the internal accelerometer and gyro, the GPS module included in the kit, analogue/digital inputs and predefined math channels.
Performance and data acquired can also be incremented by adding up to eight expansion modules. Supplied complete with a GPS module, wiring harness with military spec motorsport connectors, data lead and the powerful RaceStudio3 software. All versions include an odometer and trip meter.
Connecting the MXL2 to your ECU standard vehicle or racing ECU is very simple. Sample and display dozens of channels straight from the vehicle’s ECU. This is often the quickest and easiest setup, needing only a cable connection to the ECU instead of multiple connections to analogue sensors. Sampled data depends on the actual ECU but typically includes RPM, engine load, throttle position TPS, oil/air/water temperature, oil pressure, battery voltage, speed, gear, lambda value, air/fuel ratio. The list of available ECU drivers is constantly updated and upgraded includes around 1000 different ECUs, either O/E or racing.
2 Digital Outputs
The MXL2 also features two digital outputs. Each of them can give an output of 1 amp at 12 volts: they can be configured to be turned on/off depending on the value of the analogue or digital inputs. They permit to automatically run external systems, i.e. to switch on/off additional lights, to activate/de-activate a cooling fan or circulation pumps, etc when a certain event happens.
The MXL2 display features a high contrast traditional LCD, combined with a graphical LCD offering great flexibility in information display and alerts. The MXL2 offers a dual coloured backlight of high contrast white or red. An ambient light sensor keeps the backlight at optimum brightness levels.
Integrated Shift Light
An integrated 10 LED shift light. Choose from a host of advanced multi-coloured RGB shift light patterns that can be customised to your liking, and for each unique gear when required.
Six different alarm LEDs: you choose the conditions, the colours and the flashing frequency. You can configure them to turn them on/off depending on analogue or digital inputs, ECU values, expansion values, GPS information or math channels. You can also associate an alarm LED a message and a digital output with each event.
Included with the dash, GPS technology represents a true revolution in data acquisition. Thanks to the lightweight and waterproof GPS Module and its GPS Manager software, you can immediately get lap times and all data needed for engine tuning as well as for improving driving technique.
The GPS Module is fast in satellite signal acquisition and reliable in adverse situations. GPS Manager allows you to set track start/finish lines and splits and to download a comprehensive track database. With the GPS Module you get important information, i.e. chassis analysis, track position, etc as well as position, speed, cornering in-line and lateral G and automatic lap times.
The 37 pin harness comes standard in the kit, should you need more data you can add our 22 pin harness as an optional extra.
Configure & Analyse With Race Studio 3
With Race Studio 3 you can create, modify, delete, import and export configurations with all channels, ECU drivers, Math channels, Display Pages, Digital outputs, Alarms, Shift Lights and all the expansions you need. You will also be able to manage the map of all your racing tracks and compare two laps watching the video recorded by SmartyCam HD cameras.
With Race Studio 3 you can also analyse all data recorded by MXL2 and downloaded to your PC: graphs, histograms and tables will help you study your performance, providing objective support to avoid mistakes and improve performances.
